Responsibilities
- Understand and represent PRI’s mission, vision and values to all internal and external customers. - Engage clients in appropriate communication and interpersonal skills that manages client expectations and builds a collaborative relationship with the client. - Interact with government and private sector clients, partners, and PRI staff in a professional and accountable manner, and as a representative of PRI management. - Writing software requirements documentation using Microsoft Word and other applications as appropriate. - Creating detailed software design documentation using Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word, and other applications as appropriate. - Create SQL scripts, stored procedures, and user functions in T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server. - Create and deploy reports for Microsoft Reporting Services. - Creating and modifying web form based web applications in C# and ASP .NET and deploying these applications to new and existing sites. - Prioritize and work multiple tasks across multiple projects or work efforts. - Follow change control process outlined in PRI IT Manual to ensure integrity of the production environment and delivery of quality products. - Ability to isolate, replicate, and verify defect fixes. - Ability to communicate clearly (written and verbal) to include all forms of documentation as well as updating management regarding deliverable timeline changes. - Ensure requirements are understood and meet with the appropriate personnel as needed to completely develop-to and meet requirements. - Communicate with management regarding problems – especially those that impact deliverable timelines. - Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues. - Coordinate with other developers, the test team staff, and program management team staff as necessary to ensure a quality product is produced in a timely fashion. - Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study. - At least two years’ experience developing solutions using Microsoft .NET and C# technologies. - Basic understanding of N-Tier development with an emphasis on web development and services. - Ability to write SQL scripts, stored procedures, and user functions in T-SQL for Microsoft SQL Server. - Ability to create reports using Microsoft Visual Studio or Microsoft Report Builder and deploy reports to Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. - Basic understanding of secure coding practices in relation to web development. - Familiarity with and ability to work with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). - Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal communications. - Quality oriented. - Strong customer service and teamwork skills. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to be discrete and maintain high levels of confidentiality. - Ability to interface with all levels of management and staff personnel. - Ability to work independently - Must have no conflict of interest (COI) as defined in 1154(b)(1) of the Social Security Act (SSA). - Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Security Clearance. Pluses - Microsoft Access development experience. - Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) experience. - Microsoft Messaging Queue (MSMQ) experience. - Microsoft SharePoint development experience.
