AVP, Branch Sales and Operations

Currently the 81st largest credit union in the U.S. (16th largest in California), Provident Credit Union was established in 1950 to serve the California Teachers Association. Headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, Provident Credit Union now serves more than 100,000 members from over 1200 employer groups and maintains branches throughout California, and nationwide.

The Assistant Vice President of Branch Sales and Operations is responsible and accountable for sales performance, service standards and operational integrity within P.C.U.’s branch network. Working in sync with branch managers, this person will ensure staff members are trained in excellent customer service and in compliance with Federal, State and C.U. regulations. The AVP practices hands-on leadership driven by his or her experience and expertise in sales, service, business development, operations, compliance and personnel policy.

Prepare to roll up your sleeves! As AVP of Branches, you’ll set and monitor profitability and service goals in cooperation with branch managers. You’ll be responsible for overall sales performance of assigned branches, so you’ll be analyzing performance and providing feedback, guidance, training and motivation. You will also participate on strategic teams within P.C.U. This position is 40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

The AVP must have five years of management experience in a financial institution with proven leadership success. Successful candidates will be comfortable interviewing, hiring, developing, coaching and evaluating staff. A college degree or equivalent work experience is a must. Understanding relevant banking regulations and completion of annual trainings is required.
