Software Engineer

Raise Marketplace Inc. is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects buyers and sellers of gift cards through both an online store and mobile app.

- As a front-end engineer at Raise, you’ll be leading engineering efforts for the client-side of our gift card marketplace. You'll be working closely with our backend engineers as well as the product team to build powerful, beautiful and responsive front-end web applications using the latest technologies and techniques. - As part of a small, fast growing team, there is immense growth potential both from an engineering and a business standpoint. - Expert on Backbone library and/or MVC JS frameworks like Angular and Ember - Expert in developing complex UIs that leverage Restful JSON APIs - Expert in HTML5, CSS3, and jQuery for developing fully responsive and immersive UX - Extensive experience in debugging cross-browser/cross-platform HTML/CSS/JS issues - Extensive experience in building server side applications in JS/Node or Ruby/Rails - Extensive experience with test-driven development - automated browser testing as well as unit testing - Experience with GIT and GIT development workflows - Passion for learning and implementing new technologies and software engineering practices - High attention to detail in maintaining design integrity throughout the build process - Able to deliver in a highly-agile environment, working against light requirements - Bachelors in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent experience
