Summary
The VP Marketing supports the SVP in the day-to-day management of all department initiatives. Projects include branding, advertising, development of strategic marketing plans and initiatives, event management and other projects in conjunction with various business units. The VP also works with the SVP to develop overall marketing efforts to raise the profile of NYCEDC within the business community and to promote NYC as a premier place for business.
Responsibilities
* Work with SVP to establish objectives, strategies and initiatives for the Marketing department to support the company’s needs and goals. * Help determine personnel needs, solicit and help select, manage, train and motivate marketing strategy staff, with 4 or more direct reports * Establish strong relationships with other departmental VPs and Project Managers * Responsible for overseeing and maximizing effectiveness of marketing projects * Work with external agencies where needed to manage projects * Work to establish effective metrics for marketing initiatives. * Responsible for keeping all projects on track strategically, creatively, and on schedule. * Keep SVP up to date on all projects, identifying issues and helping to develop solutions. * Oversee project budgets * Ensure that all marketing “products” are approved by the SVP before their release * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent * 8+ years experience in Marketing/Communications * MS Office, Outlook * Experience in client management, branding, advertising, digital, social, media, communications and related experience * Extensive experience working with both offline and digital creative development; ability to provide clear direction and feedback to creative teams. * Strong English language written, oral and presentation skills * Strong project management and analytical skills * People management experience and skills including as a good team manager and a clear and strong communicator across all levels. * Interest in, and passion for, New York City and its growth and prosperity. * Experience managing budgets. * New York City residence is required within 180 days
