* Responsible for planning, developing and implementing security plans, security programs such as Emergency Response and Crisis Management, Physical Security, Incident Management and/or Investigation.
* Monitors, manages and reviews contracted security personnel in Schaumburg facility.
* Reviews contracted security daily incident reports and meets with contracted security supervisor to go over weekly incidents and follow ups in Schaumburg facility.
* Provides insight and direction to company with regard to safety strategies.
* Audits production floor, office areas, and company grounds to ensure compliance with all safety and security programs in Schaumburg facility.
* Manages and administers the workers’ compensation loss control program.
* Assists with the preparation of the workers' compensation program budget.
* Communicates and advise management on claims costs, reserve information, status of claims, loss experience trends and program costs.
* Directs and monitors the activities and performance of the workers' compensation claims to ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as ADA, FMLA, etc..
* Develops and manages the Return to Work program and safety incentive programs as well as creates and reviews company safety goals.
* Consults with the WC Insurance company claim adjuster and the attorney to select legal counsel for litigated workers' compensation cases and evaluates legal counsel performance, utilization and effectiveness.
* Conducts workers' compensation claims investigations and directs claims adjuster on workers' compensation claims investigation activities.
* Develops and maintains close communication with insurance carriers, medical providers providing services for injured employees and serves as a liaison between medical providers, injured employees and department supervisors.
* Communicates benefits and program goals with department managers and injured workers for the purpose of loss control.
* Reviews and approves all claim settlements proposed by the claims adjuster.
* Develops, implements and monitors workers' compensation claims reporting forms, procedures and activities.
* Meets with suppliers and/or contractors on safety and security issues in Schaumburg facility.
* Meets with regulatory agencies and inspects and reviews production machinery and equipment for regulatory compliance in Schaumburg facility.
* Conducts safety team meetings and reviews departmental monthly safety meeting notes and safety surveys.
* Conducts new supervisor safety training and also assists with new employee safety orientation in Schaumburg facility.
* Reviews contracted security daily incident reports and meets with contracted security supervisor to go over weekly incidents and follow ups.
* Maintains and reviews internal OSHA safety programs.
* Participates in customer audits for compliance on bio-security related items.
* Assists in the selection of insurance in dealing with risk and loss.
* Compiles and keeps currents vendors/consultants Certificate of Insurance (COI’s).
* Assists in maintaining and updating the Critical Incident Information Manual.
* Manages the department function and processes.
* Oversees the work activities and professional training and development of 2 direct reports.
* Works with Management to attain goals, carry out strategies, plans, and policies to increase profitability and success of the Company.
* Enhances, implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
* Assists in developing and carrying out department’s goals, objectives, and systems.
* Assists in creating department’s policies and procedures.
* Assists in creating the department’s budget and works within established parameters.
* Conducts interviews, appraisal performances, on boarding, and disciplinary meetings including terminations.
* Approves payroll and amends Source Time errors for hourly employees.
* Fills out appropriate paperwork, i.e. hiring, termination, replacement, performance evaluations, accident reports, vacation requests, and counseling forms.
* Monitors employee’s adherence to company rules and policies and takes necessary corrective action if needed.
* Is responsible for reviewing and maintaining crewing levels and optimizing to meet or surpass NPF cost targets.
* Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
* Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
* Participates in sensory training and evaluation to help ensure the highest quality of our products.
* Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
* Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
* Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
* Up to 10 % travel required.
* Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
