Summary
The API Management Developer will be responsible for playing the technical lead developer role in defining the integration architecture and patterns and the successful design, development of API Management platform and solutions for the enterprise. Provide best fit architectural solutions for one or more projects; provide technology consultation; assist in defining scope and sizing of work; implement the solutions; create technology differentiation; leverage partner technologies; participate in competency development with the objective of ensuring best fit and high quality technical solution and creating thought leadership within the area of technology specialization.
Responsibilities
* Designing solutions, implementation, customization, integration and deployment of API Management and Integration solutions * Define and evangelize API frameworks, best practices for API design and implementation for enterprises * Will be leading engagements and be responsible for E2E solution implementation * Conducting workshops to facilitate design, role engineering, strategy definition, etc. * Communicating to management and technical teams all aspects of both the product and the implementation at the technical and/or functional level appropriate for the situation * Requirements gathering, analysis and documentation * Participate in application architecture design sessions * Create new architecture guidelines and ensuring compliance for overall projects
Ideal Candidate
* Candidate should have a CS, Engineering or equivalent degree. Experience in SOA (Service oriented Architecture) and API Management. * Proficiency in web-services and web API related technologies (SOAP / REST, WSDL, XML, JSON) and experience as a solution architect in implementing an enterprise API * Management platform is required. Experience with CA's Layer 7 API Management Gateway is recommended but not required. * 5+ years of professional work experience as part of an enterprise software company or systems integrator * Strong knowledge in working with Web services and API technologies (REST, XML/JSON, SOAP, XSLT) * Strong knowledge on securing the web APIs data-integrity/confidentiality, basic auth and OAuth 2.0, CORS * Knowledge of API Management concepts and fundamentals * Understanding HTTP and HTTPS protocols and basic knowledge on HTTP headers, request/response, XML/JSON data structure, SOAP/REST services * Experience with XPath, RegEx, HTTP status codes, GET/POST methods, CRUD operations * Experience on any enterprise service bus product and/or JMS messaging * Ability to quickly grasp & learn new technologies and develop POC/prototypes * Good communication skills and extensive experience working with technical teams and management * Clear grasp of SDLC principles and best practices * Working experience and knowledge of API Gateway product CA Technologies Layer7 is a plus!
