Summary
McCormick's Industrial Group is seeking an experienced Retail Food Service salesperson to join our rapidly growing Branded Food Service team as a Business Development Manager responsible for helping secure growth opportunities, actively soliciting & managing fully qualified product development projects, seeking out and qualifying new partnership opportunities.
Responsibilities
* Manages and assists in the analyzing, planning, research, and development of organization's objectives and strategic plans, in order to achieve business opportunities, growth, and financial profitability. * Develops and implements business plans which will include the identification of opportunities and threats and achieve growth and financial profitability * Oversees and participates in development and research activities involving building on company strengths and capabilities, increasing share of market, and obtaining a competitive position in the industry * Ensures the delivery of sales targets in the end user market and generate a positive net profit position for the Company. * Develops and executes the sales strategy, establishing sales targets for new business. * Creates new trading opportunities through identification of new customers and business opportunities as well as further development of existing client base. * Prepares tracking system to monitor budget levels for the business, and operate within budgetary guideline. * Develops relationships within the Purchasing, Development, Quality and Marketing organizations within each account, manage annual product and pricing reviews and maximize profitability at each account, and works continuously to increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of every interaction between McCormick and all assigned accounts.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Qualifications:** * Minimum of 5 years of sales and business development experience in the field or related area * Minimum of 2 years in Retail Food Service area * Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field * Working knowledge of technical aspects of food service manufacturing products and programs, i.e. nomenclature, applicability within customer's process, substitution choices, new discoveries, etc. * Highly developed written and verbal communications skills that are clear, concise, and appropriate in timing and directed to appropriate levels * Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with key contacts at all assigned accounts, promote and facilitate communications and relationship building between McCormick contacts and their counterparts within appropriate functional groups * Proven project management skills in a sales cycle from six weeks to eighteen months * Proficiency with Microsoft Office * Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, as needed **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience with Salesforce.com * Experience with Tibersoft or similar Food Service business intelligence platform * Experience with budget management
