Our Company

Maurice Sporting Goods was established in 1923 by our founder, Maurice Olshansky, as a sporting goods outlet in downtown Chicago. The business grew and prospered after Mr. Olshansky's children grew up and joined the business. By 1958, we had started to supply local discount stores with sporting goods. Our first expansion was to Atlanta in 1973, followed by Dallas in 1976, Harrisburg in 1988, Reno in 1991, and Toronto in 1994. We were the first distributors in the country to computerize. We were also the first to make extensive use of planograms, to pre-ticket, and to provide regional satellite warehouses.
