Summary
Stores and distributes materials and product throughout the manufacturing environment by means of a variety of material handling equipment.
Responsibilities
* Reads production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. * Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to designated areas throughout the manufacturing facility. * Sorts and places materials on racks, shelves, or in bins according to documented standard work, or predetermined sequence (ie. Part number, commodity, size, product code). * Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for material, tools, or other stock items and distributes to production work areas. * Marks materials with identifying information. * Opens boxes, crates, and other containers. * Weighs or counts items for distribution to ensure conformance to standard work and company policy. * Fills customer orders from stock and conveys orders packing stations or shipping department. * Drives forklift or other material handling vehicles when necessary to perform duties (Vermeer Forklift Operators License Required). * Supports 5S/workplace organization goals of the department and offers suggestions and makes improvements that achieve the department’s performance board metrics.
