Summary
ADG develops tools and techniques for high-fidelity computer graphics and simulation. Our goal is to expand and enhance creative storytelling in the Star Wars universe through real-time rendering of film-quality imagery. Our work can also be seen powering many of the ILMxLAB immersive experiences. The Director, Engineering role is responsible for the vision, strategy and execution of all engineering of technical processes and production technologies for the group. The position evaluates new and emerging technologies, and manages and directs the staff and activities of the engineering team.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for deliverable from an engineering standards point of view. * Coordinates what and how we deliver with business partners and internal /external production stakeholders. * Develop and nurture Engineers as required, including driving and/or participating in training strategies, morale assessment and career development initiatives. * Establish, publish and drive execution of a multi-year technology roadmap. * Ensures architecture & design for all applications, tools, and technologies is extensible & reusable across multiple projects * Define standardized development processes and metric collection, analysis, & utilization to improve efficiency and quality. * • Collaborate with other partners to align tool development and to balance long-term vs. short-term goals. * • Drive shared learning and shared solution practices.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills & Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent. • 10+ years of experience in the creation and delivery of state-of-the-art, performance-minded console games; 5+ of those years as a technical director or lead programmer. • Proven leadership and project management skills. • Strong foundation in Game Engine Engineering. • Game and/or GPU development experience. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. **Preferred Experience** • Prior experience leading studio wide shared technology projects and development is preferred.
