Pixar’s Studio Tools team is responsible for developing Presto, our in-house proprietary animation software. We're looking for a software engineer who is committed to creating and maintaining world-class production tools. If you're someone with a deep understanding of software application engineering, an ability to collaborate with large cross-functional teams, and are skilled in designing and implementing robust, easy to maintain code, this may be the role for you.
- Partner with artists and technicians to provide world class software development and support for film production
- Develop, implement, test and support 3D graphics software in a Linux environment
- Collaborate effectively with a team of engineers, QA, Build, UI and Project Management
- 5+ years of professional engineering in C++ required. Production experience highly desired
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong software engineering skills are a must
- Strong problem solving skills with high attention to detail and quality
- Experience with UNIX / Linux
- Experience using modern UI frameworks, such as Qt
- Experience with 3D applications (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Katana)
- Experience working with technical and non-technical software users
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of modern rendering architectures, OpenGL and GPU technologies is a strong plus
