Senior Software Engineer - Application Development

Livefyre is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design and build cutting-edge web user experiences that operate at huge scale. You will join a team of talented product developers focused on building the most delightful and powerful user experiences the web has to offer. Our SaaS offering powers the work of publishers and marketers across the web and includes components that are used directly by more than 250 million people globally each month.

* Work with product managers, designers, and other engineers to build real-time web applications * Build rich interactive applications and components in Javascript that scale using the latest web development tools, technologies, and practices * Build application backend services using Python and Javascript frameworks and persistence layers * Ensure testability and maintainability of software over many cycles of development

* 5+ years experience building mobile and desktop web experiences for consumer end users and enterprise customers in SaaS products * Excellent team and communication skills * Extremely proficient in JavaScript and at least one other language preferably including Python * Understanding of frontend architecture patterns and familiarity with the latest JavaScript frameworks and development tools * Strong understanding of web technologies: HTML5, CSS3, HTTP, CORS, Restful APIs, Auth protocols * Experience with data access layers and patterns and a range of database technologies (MongoDB, MySQL, Redis etc.) * Experience with current development practices: unit testing, source control, deployment tools, cloud services such as AWS * Strong grasp of CS fundamentals and design patterns * Ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems using appropriate tools and techniques * Sense of urgency and thrives in a fast-paced environment
