Summary
As the Technical Capabilities Manager you will be responsible for hiring, managing, coaching and deploying resources across scrum teams to enable optimal alignment of staff to business priorities. Manage quality of work delivered by team members, and ensure application of current tools and capability best practices across the community. You will be responsible for delivering various enterprise wide data & analytical solutions which will create significant opportunities to our company. You will work with a variety of business areas and architects to manage various projects to build the strategic data lake platform that can create a cohesive data eco system creating business opportunities and support in analytics and reporting. You will be required to manage various facets of the data lake implementation on Hadoop in AWS, leveraging various open sources & data integration tools including Informatica Big Data edition, Hadoop suite of tools including HDFS, Spark, Sqoop, HBase, Hive, Pig, Python etc.
Responsibilities
* Defines and implements optimal practices for resourcing and staffing scrum teams. * Direct managerial responsibility for 15-20 Technical Professionals * Coordinates and delivers performance reviews and drives professional development, including rotations and special assignments. Facilitates or provides mentoring experiences. * Manages the quality of work delivered by team members and deals effectively with performance issues in a timely manner. * Provides relevant technical coaching and support to team members. * Develops frameworks for benchmarking skills and establishing technical competency standards for roles and levels with HR. * Hires talent and actively engages in recruiting processes. Responsible for workforce and talent management plans. * Coordinates with vendors to ensure talent management, on-boarding and transition are performed in a consistent manner. * May establishes financial plan for training budgets and/or overall unit and manages to plan (has no application or portfolio financial planning responsibilities) * Initiates and fosters collaborative partnerships with current and potential clients, IT and business managers, vendors and IT executives; develops relationships that support increasing efficiency and effectiveness. * Introduces and implements next-gen tools and capability best practices for the practice community. * Defines metrics and key performance indicators to track efficiency and efficacy of practice deliverables.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors or Master’s Degree in technical or business discipline or related experience required. * At least five years and typically eight or more years of experience with 3 years in a leadership role * Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative, communication, presentation and management skills, strong judgment and ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff. * Requires strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills; In-depth knowledge of project planning methodologies and tools and IT standards and guidelines; knowledge of management concepts, practices and techniques. * In-depth knowledge of IT concepts, strategies, and methodologies; thorough knowledge of business functions and operations, objectives and strategies. **Preferred Skills:** * Experience working in an agile environment (Scrum, Kanban, XP, etc.) * Experience in managing distributed delivery model (onshore/offshore model) * Experience working & managing modern data technologies including Hadoop, AWS, data pipeline using open source stack, Informatica big data edition. * Experience with relational databases, such as SQL Server, Oracle and ability to write SQL commands * Programming background with Pig, Python or Java * Experience working in a similar environment (i.e. Financial / Insurance services)

Salary: $125,200-$163,900

Working Conditions

Travel: 25 % of the Time
