Principal Cyber Security Engineer

We are looking for a highly seasoned individual to take on the role of Principal Cyber Security Engineer for a rapidly growing software company based out of San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will be someone who likes to stay on top of the constant changes in cyber security and likes to constantly learn and remain vigil on the constant security breach risks.

* Design system security architecture and develop detailed security designs * Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information * Identify and define system security requirements * Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols * Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices * Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks * Ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents * Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement * Design system security architecture and develop detailed security designs * Engineer, implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information * Identify and define system security requirements * Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols * Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks

* 7+ years experience with network technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools * 2+ years experience in a leadership role * The candidate must have an in-depth, hands-on experience with both systems and networking applications * Be well versed in today's technology, capable of intelligently discussing systems design and architecture * Hands on experience in both Windows and Linux platforms with a solid understanding of networking principals and security best practices * Proven working experience in building and maintaining security systems * Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security * Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc * Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols * Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols * Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
