Back-End Engineer

Jumpcut is a content platform that teaches people how to succeed on social media. Our long term vision is to change the way people learn online.

We're creating an awesome platform for creators to sell premium digital content. You'll be working directly with our founding team on designing and building a scalable, high-performance software platform that will be used to handle millions of payments, content access requests/releases, affiliate datastores, product creation catalogs, and discovery features. We're only at the beginning of this journey, so you'll be defining and coding most of the core functionality for our system. Our entire team is lean, and we all work together -- you'll be in constant interaction with not only with engineers, but product, operations, and marketing.

**What We're Looking For** * A great cultural fit * Commanding understanding of JavaScript (e.g. won’t stare back at me when I ask how to bind invocation context in JavaScript) or convince us with your Ruby / Python skills * Understanding of asynchronous programming (or parallel programming principles) * Extensive experience of designing relational data models and implementing them with any relational database system * Object-Oriented Programming ninja * Experience with command line tools a plus * Extensive Git experience and some open source experience a plus * Prior experience of collaborating on large software project a plus * Experience with a popular ORM such as Mongoose a plus * Experience with Cassandra a HUGE plus **Our Current Stack** * Node.js * Facebook React * Cassandra / MongoDB / PostgreSQL * HTML / CSS / Javascript * AWS
