Summary
The Senior Security Analyst is part of a team that sets up and maintains electronic security for the Company’s information systems and facilities. The ideal candidate must be able to exercise exceptional judgment with broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results. They must be able to determine the need for procedures, practices, and tools. The Senior Security Analyst must able to work independently on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
Responsibilities
* Ensure that operational security technologies are properly implemented, and troubleshoot when necessary, including solutions for IPS, web application firewalls, SIEM, DB access monitoring, file and disk encryption, DLP, and web filtering. * Provide expertise on the effective use of commercial and open-source security solutions to solve complex security issues, both architectural and operational in nature. * Provide input to the department's leadership for enhancing the information security strategy. * Assist others in understanding and implementing security policy objectives in ways that are cost effective, and align with business objectives. Provide security input for network and software architectural changes, and new projects. * Interface with third parties to support security audits or explain technical security issues. * Perform vulnerability management efforts, including regular network and application vulnerability testing. Ensure the appropriate use of automated, manual, and third party testing options. * Act as the technical escalation point for security incident investigations. Conduct appropriate investigations using network and disk forensic tools. * Provide content suggestions and support for security awareness and training program. * Stay current on security industry trends, attack techniques, mitigation techniques, and security technologies by attending conferences, networking with peers, and other educational opportunities. * Mentor and train less experienced information security staff. * Other duties as assigned **Additional Information:** * This brief summary is not an all-inclusive description of job duties. Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or engineering/technical field. Degree with specialization in Information Security preferred. Relevant job experience may be substituted for the degree requirement. * Five years direct technical experience implementing information security related technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and encryption. * Two years of experience with computer security incident monitoring and response activities and methodologies. * System administration experience (Windows and Unix), and/or network administration experience. * Familiarity with generally accepted information security governance such as SSAE 16, PCI DSS or ISO 27001 * Strong problem solving skills, including the ability to develop innovative risk mitigation solutions. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface well with employees, vendors, customers and prospective clients. * Ability to protect company assets and ability to maintain the highest standards of privacy and security. * General understanding of information security governance best-practices. * General understanding of information security risks management practices. * Experience with automated vulnerability scanning in an enterprise environment. * Experience with application level attacks and counter-measures. * Applicants selected for this position will require background screening and the ability to maintain a security clearance.
