Senior Software Engineer

HP Exstream is looking for talented software engineers to join the HP Exstream Product Development organization. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to either our highly successful Customer Communication Management suite of software or some of our new cloud-based products that will be released to the marketplace over the next few months. You will work across the entire software lifecycle of these products—from design, to development, and through release — using a variety of languages. We are an agile development team with close cooperation across development, quality assurance, documentation, and project management. * Delivers high quality software that is scalable, high-performing, and robust. * Writes thorough tests for all software that is developed. * Decomposes work into tasks that can be completed in days rather than weeks or months as a part of Scrum’s framework. * Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities within HP Exstream R&D. * Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with applications design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk. * Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software applications leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities. * Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields * Minimum 6-8 years of experience * Knowledge and Skills : * Experience with or interest in Web Based UI development (HTML5, JavaScript, and jQuery) as well as more traditional UI development (C /MFC). * Experience solving algorithmically complex problems in traditional languages like Java or C . * Extensive experience with multiple software applications design tools and languages. * Preferred development in multi-platform experience. * Must thrive in new product environments – those that frequently change and have time constraints. * Must love to ship products – and all of the pressure associated with it – not just work on software. * Experience in overall architecture of software applications for products and solutions. Familiarity with Design Patterns required. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels. * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. * Experience in overall architecture of software applications for products and solutions. * Experience with document communication products a plus.
