Summary
The person hired for the position of Customer Service Software Engineer will be responsible for application maintenance and development using various languages, such as C#/Java/Perl/HTML5/AngularJS. Applications, such as standalone, web and web services, involve large volume of source code. This position will provide support on products to clients and customers. 3M Cogent is a leading high-tech development company in the fields of image processing, biometrics, automated fingerprint identification, and systems integration supports a worldwide customer base which includes law enforcement, civil government, and commercial customers.
Responsibilities
* Develop and enhance existing biometric processing and identification product * Maintain and support existing biometric processing and identification product * Participate in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) of new product development
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** * High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited learning institution * Experience in full Software Development Life Cycle **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university * Experience in customer support and help desk operation * Image or photo processing related user interface design and development experience; * Client-server system integration experience; * Familiar with Node.js, AngularJS, Javascript, Perl, HTML, HTML5 * Experience with Oracle or similar SQL products * Web based and Java development * MS Windows, UNIX and Linux experience * Peripheral device interface development * Excellent ability in understanding large volume of source code * Team player * Agile practice experience * Excellent English communication skills * Able and willing to work under pressure, extra hours if necessary * Able and willing to travel for system installation and customer support
