HomeAway is a data-driven company with the Decision Systems department at the heart of the data analysis. Our deliverables include the Enterprise Data Warehouse, and automated analytical data streams that fuel our search engine, email marketing engine, and other production systems.

* As the industry leader with more than 1.2 million online listings across the globe, we generate a lot of data. * Our team makes sense out of that data to provide a world-class experience for travelers, Property Owners and Property Managers alike. * We accomplish this by pairing tried-and-true RDBMS (SQL Server) with powerful analytics platforms like Hadoop and BigQuery. * As the Principal Decision Systems Architect at HomeAway, you’ll play a major role in how we build our data processing systems. * You’ll partner with our development managers to understand objectives, and then design scalable, extensible systems that provide us a competitive advantage. * Simply put, we want you to be a thought leader in HomeAway’s data and analysis platform.

* Design and document high availability distributed system * Design and document Big Data (Hadoop) solutions * ?Design and document data warehouses * ?Design and document system to APIs to expose data to production services * ?Design and document system to system interfaces and transport layers * ?Implement proof of concepts * ?Influence, train and mentor developers? * Influence and document development practices * ?Collaborate and work with various stakeholders including development managers, developers, and business constituents? * Perform new product analysis * ?Comfortable speak in front of large audiences ? * Comfortable working with multi-petabyte systems? **Preferred Qualifications:** * Proficient knowledge of Hadoop and traditional RDBMS systems * ?Proficient knowledge of data science and machine learning tools and practices * ?Proficient understanding of Kimball Methodology and data warehouse design? * Experience with Click Stream Analysis?- Experience with Cloud Based Big Data Systems?
