- Directs the day to day operations of the Transfer Center supporting first line management in ensuring adequate staffing and other needed resources.
- Performs all director level duties including hiring, discipline, performance management and termination.
- Promotes a healthy work environment that supports the Transfer Center in the provision of high quality services.
- Collaborates with front line clinical professionals (nurses and physicians) to ensure safe and efficient patient transfers.
- Maintains a complete and current set of policies & procedures and protocols to support the operations of the Transfer Center.
- Develops and produces accurate and timely reports that enable executive management to assess the center outcomes and on which decisions may be based.
- Works collaboratively with leaders of area hospitals to address operational issues and potential growth opportunities.
- Continuously monitors and develops and leads the implementation of strategies to maximize transfers within the HCA Gulf Coast Division hospitals
- Leads the business development and marketing function for the Transfer Center; collaborates with other components of the HCA sales initiative in order to ensure a well coordinated effort. Shares information gained that would support other internal initiatives and efforts.
- Provides on-site leadership during emergency situations and to work collaboratively with both internal and external entities for emergency/disaster preparation and during execution of the plan.
EDUCATION
- Bachelors Degree in Health, Business Administration or a related field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- Minimum five years of experience in transfer center operations including management level responsibility
- Clinical experience as an RN, EMT, or paramedic
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Proficient Computer skills; able to perform competently in Excel and PowerPoint, Computer Aided Dispatch and Patient Tracking Systems. Ability to manage the provision of consistent and accurate reporting.
- strong interpersonal skills; ability to clearly articulate ideas, concepts, issues, and solutions to internal and external customers
- Able to assume accountability for a 24/7 operation
- Familiarity with the processes for dispatching and requesting air medical resources
