Summary

Our Distributed Systems team builds, scales and maintains services that are the core of Fastly’s business and give us a key advantage over our competitors. You will build systems that will be able to handle exponential growth in our existing products while laying groundwork for exciting new applications. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the world’s most highly-scaled distributed systems that handle around 2 million request per second.

Responsibilities
  • Experience with compiled languages like Go or C/C++
  • Projects related to real-time event logging, stats collection and analysis
  • System profiling and performance optimization
  • Improving the reliability and efficiency of fault-tolerant distributed systems
  • Working within cross-functional engineering teams
Ideal Candidate
  • Maintaining and developing large-scale, production systems
  • Linux/UNIX systems, both high and low level
  • Writing code that is performant, maintainable, clear, and concise
  • Expertise in designing, analyzing, profiling, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
  • Experience with software engineering best practices (e.g. unit testing, code reviews, design documentation)
