Are you interested in applying your design and programming skills to help researchers identify the next global infectious disease threat?
EcoHealth Alliance is seeking a Front-end Developer for our tech team. As part of a small team of developers, data scientists, infectious disease scientists, you'll develop tools to support EcoHealth Alliance's mission in conservation and global public health.
Description and Responsibilities
- Build reusable, testable front end code libraries for inclusion in multiple projects including mobile applications.
- Communicate and provide timely feedback with stakeholders and other team members.
- Knowledge of and experience with building accessible designs a plus.
- Aware of the interplay between JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and can dynamically create, modify, and style elements on a page with ease. Experience using a CSS/JS preprocessors is a plus (e.g. Stylus, CoffeeScript, LESS, SASS)
- Well-versed in fundamental visual and interactive design discipline
- Understanding of all major browsers and the special considerations required for all various quirks
- Competent JavaScript programmer who doesn't need to rely on libraries to accomplish innovative interactions
- Working knowledge of a modern JavaScript framework such as AngularJS, Backbone, Ember, or Meteor. Ideally you have Meteor experience
- Comfortable with source version control software
- Experience implementing responsive designs
- A strong sense of team spirit and diplomacy
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English
