Supervise Family Support Specialists and Youth Development Coordinators to work with youth and families to achieve successful and sustained reunification of youth returning home from residential placement or foster care or other out of home placement and providing in-home counseling services as an intermediate sanction to avoid placement in more restrictive settings. Facilitate connecting youth and families with the appropriate community supports through a wraparound process, identify and resolve trauma, improve pro-social behavior, provide the family with effective parenting skills and techniques for improved communication and interaction within the family unit. Lead and train staff in family engagement practices and strategies and ensure fidelity to the models employed such as Family Time Coaching, Family Safety Planning and Supported Visitation.
• Oversee and manage the program’s operations and programming in accordance with standards, core beliefs and tenets, policies, procedures, contractual agreements, professional practices, and the Eckerd Code of Ethics.
• Supervise, direct, and evaluate Family Support Specialists, Youth Development Coordinators and Licensed Clinical Specialist; Ensure training (NC Family Assessment Scale, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Family Centered Practice, etc.) as necessary to fulfill succession planning requirements and contractual requirements; assess knowledge of, and compliance with, philosophy and intervention strategies.
• Develop a working knowledge of DCF policy and procedures regarding court processing and youth interactions and monitor staff for compliance.
• Maintain the capacity to serve the anticipated number of youth and families based on contractual agreement; Ensure supervisor/staff ratio remains in compliance with Eckerd policy and contractual requirements.
• Meet weekly with Family Support Specialists and Youth Development Coordinators to review cases, and discuss individual family progress and needs; document meeting decisions and outcomes.
• Develop and administer client incentive accounts available for youth and families.
• Develop monthly outcome tracking and evaluation to ensure program and contractual outcomes are achieved.
• Review and approve all service/performance plans, progress reports, and termination summaries of cases assigned to subordinates.
• Ensure Family Support Specialists and Youth Development Coordinators receive appropriate training/shadowing to adequately perform duties prior to serving families; Be available to accompany staff on home visits and office visits as necessary.
• Participate in mandatory meetings and training sessions; participate in quality assurance evaluation activities as designated by contractual requirements and Eckerd guidelines.
• Develop, in cooperation with the local management team, program budgets consistent with Eckerd guidelines and contractual obligations. Carry out these spending plans with the minimum necessary adjustments.
• Develop and lead a local Advisory Board comprised of community members, former parents, other key stakeholders.
• Make accessible to the state agency or representative full access to and the right to examine all case and administrative records.
• In collaboration with state agency representatives, consult quarterly to conduct case reviews and ensure program compliance.
- Education – Bachelor’s degree, from accredited College or University, in human services, social or behavioral science required. Masters degree preferred. Will be required to obtain certification as a certified cognitive behavioral group facilitator within one year of employment.
- Experience – Four years of full-time experience working with multi-problem families required. Knowledge of family re-unification, family therapy theories, treatment philosophies and strategies of home based services. Minimum of 2 years of working experience in supervisory role required.
- Skills – Requires working knowledge of in-home services (and where applicable, delinquency case management), and juvenile court policies, procedures strongly preferred. Understanding and commitment to the evidence based practices is essential. Requires strong verbal and written communication. Effective interpersonal skills, ability to relate to wide diversity of people and situations, both internal and external, demonstrated good judgment. Strong knowledge of the technical and legal issues regarding case management of dependent youth. Demonstrated skills in program development, organizational and time management skills. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Physical Demands – Availability to work 24/7 schedule; must be free of communicable disease as defined by the appropriate state and to the extent that knowledge is attainable under the law. Must be capable of travel and driving within coverage area, often multiple hours per day.
- Other –Must meet state criminal background check requirements.
- Travel - Must be able to meet requirements for Eckerd’s Auto Insurance and be able to drive for business purposes. Must have and maintain an appropriate and valid state driver’s license.
