**The Community - Fairfield, CA** Fairfield is a vibrant and diverse community with respect for its heritage and a vision for the future. Fairfield combines a prime commercial real estate location, room for growing businesses, and a large and talented work force. Affordable housing, good schools and close proximity to many of the San Francisco Bay Area's world-famous destinations make Fairfield attractive for employers and workers. It is generally considered the midpoint between the cities of San Francisco and Sacramento, approximately 36 miles from the city center of both cities, approximately 31 miles from the city center of Oakland, less than 19 miles from Napa Valley, 16 miles from the Carquinez Bridge, and 14 miles from the Benicia Bridge. It is located in the North-eastern part of the Bay Area. Fairfield was founded in 1856 by clippership captain Robert H. Waterman, and named after his former hometown of Fairfield, Connecticut. It is the home of Travis Air Force Base and the headquarters of Jelly Belly. With a population of 108,321 at the 2010 census, it is slightly smaller in population than Vallejo. **Travis Air Force Base** Situated in the San Francisco Bay Area and known as the "Gateway to the Pacific ", Travis Air Force Base handles more cargo and passenger traffic through its airport than any other military air terminal in the United States. Today, Travis AFB includes approximately 7,260 active USAF military personnel, 4,250 Air Force Reserve personnel and 3,770 civilians. Travis AFB has a major impact on the community as a number of military families and retirees have chosen to make Fairfield their permanent home. Travis AFB is the largest employer in the City and Solano County as well, and the massive Travis workforce has a local economic impact of more than $1 billion annually. The Base also contributes a large number of highly skilled people to the local labor pool. The base is also host to David Grant USAF Medical Center, a 265-bed, $200 million Air Force teaching hospital, which serves both in-service and retired military personnel.

* Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinical privileges granted by the MTF. * Provide appropriate therapeutic procedures and provide a full range of therapy services in support of patient referrals. * All patient contact and care shall be safe, timely, result in achievement of realistic and documented treatment goals, and comply with or satisfy the intent of the referring medical staff. * Test and measure the patient's strength, motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and/or respiratory and circulatory efficiency. Record findings to develop or revise treatment programs. * Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient. * Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function. * Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in use of assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses. * Administer treatments involving application of physical agents, using equipment such as a pulsed lavage unit and/or whirlpool bath, moist packs, ultraviolet and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit. * Administer soft tissue mobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology. * Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment. * Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems. * Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. * Evaluate, fit, and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommend modification as required. * Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapy treatment with other aspects of the patient's health care. Contact referring physicians regarding patient care concerns, as required. * Provide documented treatment and discharge recommendations to members of the staff in routine, emergency, and special cases as needed. * Provide input and attend rehabilitation team meetings, seminars, and quality assurance meetings. * Participate in peer review activities. * Provide clinical supervision to assistants, technicians, aides, and students.

* A Masters or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from a Physical Therapy program acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General and accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education. * A current, unrestricted license to practice Physical Therapy in any one of the fifty States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands. * Have at least 24 months of experience within the past 36 months as a physical therapist.
