Responsibilities
Responsible for a mix of development and operational related activities needed to support EBSCO’s services and its digital initiatives. Develop, maintain, extend software components to ensure quality and facilitate rapid, reliable deployment of new features for a wide range of Ebsco products, using Agile processes.

Demonstrates ability to quickly and proficiently understand and absorb new information. * Problem Solving: Proactively identifies and mitigates issues before they arise. * Strategic thinking/visioning: Able to see and communicate the big picture in an inspiring way. * Determines opportunities and threats through comprehensive analysis of current and future trends. * Technical Proficiency: Understands complex components, technologies and architecture and thinks about the interdependencies and interconnected systems throughout a product’s entire lifecycle. **Cultural Competencies:** * Drive * Positive Attitude * Good Judgement * Open Communication * Collaboration * Desire to Make an Impact * Eager to Understand * Accountable * Decisive * Team Player **Requirements:** * 2-3 years’ experience in IT Operations and/or Development with background in support and troubleshooting Production/Live issues * 2-3 years of experience with one or more Web and Application Server technologies (e.g. IIS, Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, Nginx, Glassfish, JBoss) * 1-2 years working in Windows Server 2008/2012, Redhat Linux 6.0+ and/or UNIX operating system environments * 1+ years of experience with source code management frameworks with GIT preferred * 1+ years of experience with one or more DevOps, Orchestration/Configuration Management and Continuous Integration technology (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Docker, Jenkins, Ansible etc.) **Preferred Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or MIS preferred * Scaled Agile Framework training (SAFe for Teams) and experience preferred * Ability to take ownership of issues and drive them to resolution, strong problem-solving skills, and provide Post-mortem analysis to teams * Solid understanding of server architectures, operating systems & application resource utilization * Understand the relationships between the Scaled Definition of Done, Stories, Features, Releases, Nonfunctional Requirements, and Engineering Guidelines * Experience managing full application stacks from the OS up through custom applications * Experience with network and file protocols including HTTP, SFTP, XML, HTML, etc… * Programming language experience (e.g. Java, node.js, Javascript, .NET, PHP) * Strong scripting skills; Ruby, Python, PowerShell * Experience with automated build tools – Jenkins preferred * Knowledge of AWS and Cloud Computing concepts (preferred experience with AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS CloudFormation or AWS OpsWorks) * Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban) * Excellent written and verbal and written communication skills * Proven ability to deliver on long and short term projects * Proven ability to deliver high-quality software
