Senior Software Engineer

We are seeking a passionate and highly-motivated lead engineer for a challenging opportunity to build high performance software applications that power eBay's commerce platform and have an immediate positive impact on millions of users daily. Commerce OS engineering team works with the cutting edge technologies using all the popular open source frameworks and stacks like Node\.JS, Java, Scala, Mongo DB, REST, Hadoop, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, to name a few.

* As an engineer you define, design and implement tools that enable developers to discover and interact with API's developed within the ebay eco system\. * Develop innovative solutions that meet functional requirements as well as performance, scalability and reliability requirements while still following best practices of product development. * Prototype ideas quickly using cutting edge technologies. * Estimate engineering effort; plan implementation, and rollout system changes. * Provide technical leadership and mentor junior members of the team. * Follow best practices in software design and implementation.

* 6+ years of work experience in software design and application development or MS in Computer Science plus minimum 2 years of industry experience * Good communication skills * Advanced knowledge of model-view-controller (MVC) and object oriented design paradigms * Experience in Node JS, Java, Sacala, Mongo DB, REST, Hadoop, Event Source, Web Sockets, HTML5, CSS3, JQuery is highly desirable * Excellent analytical and problem solving skills * Proven results-oriented person with a focus on delivery in a high-velocity and high-availability environment
