Responsibilities
Eaton located in Hastings, NE is currently hiring for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. The Senior Manufacturing Engineer provides engineering support to the manufacturing process for components of existing product lines; maintain and improve current manufacturing processes affecting quality, productivity and capacity. Essential Functions: - Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe Federal, State, local and company safety and health regulations. Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine. Expected to follow safe working practices, obey rules and regulations, and work in a way that maintains the high safety and health standards developed and sanctioned by the company. - Must initiate and maintain process documentation for manufacturing processes, troubleshoot and supervise corrective actions related to machine capabilities and day to day production problems, develop proposals relating to new/improved processing methods, train and inform machine operators on new manufacturing process techniques, evaluate and implement manufacturing cost savings and suggestions, support continuous improvement effort of manufacturing teams, and develop machining processes for new part releases. - Develop and implement cost reduction and process improvement projects. - Maintain a thorough knowledge of CNC and machining processes. Create/edit CNC programs as required. - Design, quote and install necessary tooling and gages as required. - Assist in planning, coordinating and installing capital expansion projects. - Adhere to and comply with all ISO 14001/EHS, TS 16949 standards, procedures, and guidelines. - Work directly with line personnel, maintenance, quality assurance and other leadership team members to problem solve and correct production-related issues. - Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and of Company assets. - Manage the department in the absence of the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and be responsible for all meetings and reports. - Mentor Manufacturing Engineers in the manufacturing process.
Ideal Candidate
Basic Qualifications (Including Educational Requirements): - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. - Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment is required. - Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: - ISO/QS-9000 or ISO/TS16949 certification experience preferable. - 5-S Continuous Commitment - Master's degree - Bachelor's degree in Engineering - Experience in a machining environment
