Senior Software Engineer

There was a time when all that was needed to promote a business was a listing in the local newspaper. However, times have changed. Today’s local businesses often find themselves in direct competition with national chains or subjected to the pricing whims of local on-demand companies.

Responsible for the design and development of a wide range of applications software and web properties; interpret specifications and requirements; design, develop and implement highly scalable and reliable enterprise n-tier distributed applications using Java/J2EE technologies, Spring framework, Web service, XML, and relational databases including SQL server, Oracle, and MySQL; maintain web-based systems; develop Business Process Management System programs; create APIs using REST/SOAP web service standards that communicate with internal and external systems; participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements; analyze project requirements and make recommendations as appropriate; manage full software development lifecycle; perform product design, bug verification and remediation, as well as production support; build and configure web pages, screens, and reporting solutions; write and contribute to technical documentation; create test scripts and perform detailed unit testing and analysis on software and systems; work with operations staff to troubleshoot and maintain production systems.

Bachelors or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field followed 5 years of progressive experience designing and developing applications software using Java/J2EE technologies. Experience therein to include 3 years using Spring framework, JBoss application server, Hibernate/JPA, and relational databases including SQL Server, and Oracle or MySQL ; 2 years using REST web services, XML, Jenkins, Postman Junit, and JMS API; and 1 year using Grails and Groovy.
