Summary
Counsyl’s Program Manager will act as the primary point of contact for both clinical product and platform launches that impact Counsyl’s Product portfolio. The Program Manager will be responsible for leading and coordinating cross-functional teams including major stakeholders from Marketing, Pricing/Reimbursement, Finance, Legal, Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, and Product Development in developing and implementing strategies to ensure on-time launches of clinical products. The role requires a deep understanding of Counsyl’s technical, operational, and commercialization capabilities. This understanding will be leveraged to ensure new products are viable, clinically useful, and delivered on time according to product specifications.
Responsibilities
* Work with core launch team members across the organization to develop a product development and commercialization launch plan for complex clinical products * Influence the formation of a new PM function and help install strong project management processes across the organization * Identify and develop key performance indicators as well as leading indicators that indicate overall health of launch activities * Enable informed decision-making through project planning by creating and maintaining accurate project plans with on-time delivery of clinical products * Perform risk management and change management on projects * Own schedules, timelines, and be responsible for reporting on launch status to key stakeholders; Confidently articulate product roadmaps and timelines, proactively manages changing priorities throughout the organization
Ideal Candidate
* You have a BS, MS or PhD in an engineering field with a background in biology (bioinformatics, computational biology, biomedical engineering, etc.) * At least 5 years of project or product management experience, preferably in a life sciences company * Comfortable with molecular biology – the words codon, splicing and intron mean something to you * Thorough bordering on obsessive - you can’t let go of an unfinished task * Strong communicator - you are quick to bring others in and articulate new problems * Quick learner - you’re ok being the least educated person in the room on a subject and having to pick it up quickly * Data fanatic - nothing is more satisfying than a discovery with data that surprises you * Comfortable with ambiguity * Familiar with relational databases, an OOP language such as Python or Ruby, or shell scripting * PMP certification strongly preferred
