Summary
The Regional Medical Director leads the health services staff and manages the delivery of health services to businesses and operations in the U.S., Canada, and South America. The position is accountable for the health and productivity of the workforce, ensuring access to quality medical care, mitigating health risks, medical emergency preparedness and compliance with regulation and corporate standards. The position will report to the Chief Medical Officer and support the Corporate Health Services Center of Excellence.
Responsibilities
* Provide functional leadership for Health Services to the business units * Ensure that each Business Unit has appropriate medical emergency response plans * Develop and implement programs that improve the health and wellness of employees * Collaborate with HSE and operations to mitigate health and safety risks and ensure fitness for duty * Ensure compliance with company policy and regulations * Support Center of Excellence in the development, implementation and management of policies, procedures, programs and services * Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, operations, HSE, HR, legal etc to maximize business value and impact * Assess local and regional healthcare resources to ensure adequate employee and business support * Communicate programs and services to management and employees, relating to emergency care, primary care, and clinic/hospital resources * Manage budgets, contracts and vendors for health services in close collaboration with the BU’s * Provide performance metrics to the businesses and the health services center of excellence * Provide functional leadership to regional health staff
Ideal Candidate
**Basic/Required:** * Legally authorized to work in the United States * Active Medical License and Board Certification in occupational medicine, emergency medicine family practice or internal medicine * 5 or more years of experience in a health role in a large corporation * Ability to travel up to 20% (U.S., Canada and occasionally S. America) **Preferred:** * Experience working for a global corporation * Experience in the oil & gas, mining, or other industries with operations in remote locations * Ability to lead change and flexibility to adapt to evolving business needs * Strong collaboration skills * Ability to communicate effectively
