The Comcast User Experience (UX) team is transforming how Comcast customers access and enjoy entertainment, communications and home management services across all mediums-online, mobile and TV. By assembling the country's top designers and thinkers, the Comcast UX department is rapidly becoming the premier environment for building and launching one-of-a-kind experiences that make everyday life easier and more entertaining for millions of customers. The Principal Designer will develop working, high fidelity prototypes and proof of concepts for XFINITY Home Security and Home Automation products. As our Principal Designer you will work in direct collaboration with in-house UX, Product, and User Research teams to create pixel-perfect coded prototypes. These tappable or interactive HTML/CSS/JS prototypes will consist of reusable UI components for desktop, mobile and tablet. Projects will range from a single interactive screen view to larger systemized experience concepts. Relevant coding samples will be required for consideration (e.g. GitHub, BitBucket). A proactive appetite for new technologies to create new and novel experiences will be expected. Makers welcomed!

**Core job responsibilities:** * Develop cross-browser, cross-platform, standard-based, HTML/CSS/JS driven prototypes * Build raw prototypes out of arduino (or like platform) components and sensors. Be passionate about bringing raw conceptual thinking to life by any means necessary. * Help drive guerrilla testing with rapid prototyping tools such as invasion, proto.io, etc * Bring interaction studies, UI explorations and IA concepts to life * Work closely with designers, back-end developers and project managers to contribute to the overall user experience * Convert Photoshop designs and wireframes into interactable/tappable testing objects * Stay up to date on latest trends and emerging technologies within the Front-end dev community * Research and suggest new ways to improve both the speed and quality of the front-end development process * Design and prototype interactive motion studies to bring designs to life and help enable accurate development that meets your designed intent. **Additional responsibilities may include:** * Responsible for researching the customer usability experience of digital media. Reviews the initial web design and assesses the usability, look, and feel of the Company Web site. * Creates simple demos of new tools and documents functionality design. * Helps drive the vision, directs the design and the voice, and owns the experience of various Comcast products and services across multiple platforms. * Monitors the digital media form created to determine traffic through the Web site. * Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. * Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. * May lead teams or projects and shares expertise. * Specializes in user experience strategy and design, as well as front-end prototyping for web, mobile, and other digital delivery platforms, helping drive the support and future development of various Comcast products and service across multiple platforms. * Collaborates on and oversees the experience design for external digital communications and Web sites for the Company, including content development, user research, user-centered design processes, project leadership, and user experience prototyping and development. * Leads a variety of web and new media projects for the company. * Collaborates in special projects for the Company where there are additional needs for new media communication. * Oversees efforts to expand and enhance the digital delivery channels of the company, improving the user experience for accessing current and future publications, outreach, research, data, special projects, speeches, education materials, multi-media content, and other types of communications that support the mission of the company. * Assesses a product's positioning and role within the online organization's sites, products, and services. Develops and writes interaction and functional specifications. * Reviews competing products and recommends design solutions that differentiate the organization's products from those of competitors. * Develops new research and tests theories that lead to alternative, leading-edge design solutions. - Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. * Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.

* Bachelors Degree or Equivalent - Information Sciences, Technology, Computer Science * 7+ years of relevant work experience * Strong, clean visual design sense with a portfolio showcasing relevant work samples * Deep understanding and fluent usage across a broad spectrum of technologies such as Arduino, Swift, HTML/CSS/JS, Node.js, NPM, and Gulp. * Familiarity with Javascript frameworks, especially React.js * Experience with SASS, JSX, ES6, and Immutable.js a plus * The ability to work comfortably with minimal or in some cases without a functional spec. * Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines * Ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team * Expertise with user interface and interaction conventions * Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop, After Effects and Sketch * Extreme attention to detail, driving for pixel perfection * Passion for writing clear, clean, and concise code * Understanding of animation/motion design, color theory, typography, composition and iconography a plus.
