Summary
The Group Benefits Account Manager should be knowledgeable about the renewal and retention of Health and Welfare plans, customer service oriented and a team player. This individual must have experience in managing group benefit accounts through all phases to include marketing, implementation, communication and enrollment, and must be willing to participate in self-development. The Group Benefits Account Manager must be able to organize time and work, keep up-to-date with changes within the industry and cultivate relationships with our partner carriers. Knowledge of fully insured and self-insured products and alternative funding methods and thorough comprehension of ancillary products is required.
Responsibilities
* Service assigned clients and prospective clients * Assist the Producer in gathering the necessary information regarding new/renewal accounts and submit this information to the Marketing Department * Work closely with the Producer to formulate a complete submission for the client * Assist the Marketing Coordinator in the renewal and new business marketing process * On Renewals, review the proposals received and make recommendations, suggestions to formalize the final proposal * On accounts that have benefits online enrollment, assist with setup and integration wizard to update all benefit plans, rates and forms * Negotiate on behalf of the clients to achieve goals of best benefits for best rates * Provide training to clients on Zywave and other technical/system tools * Coordinate your workflow with the Producer and the Department Manager * Manage direct implementation, enrollment, and communication processes as applicable * Perform periodic service calls in accordance with Service Standards * Resolve all client service issues swiftly and courteously * Utilize stewardship and Activity tracking to ensure quality service to accounts * Update and maintain all accounts on Benefit Point * File and maintain all client information in a timely manner * Maintain awareness of new developments and legislation in the Group Benefits field * Develop and maintain a positive relationship and rapport with clients and carriers * Handle all requests by our clients or have a referral available * Work with the Producer on additional items such as the Stewardship Review Process, Service Timelines (creation and usage), Conduct and record Benefit Audit, Legislative and Compliance issues, HIPAA regulations and 5500’s, among others. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Ideal Candidate
* Current Florida 2-15 Life & Health License * College degree desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience * Minimum of three years industry experience preferred * Self-Insured experience a plus * Possess skills necessary to communicate with clients, carriers and prospects concerning Group Benefits lines of coverage * Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word. Knowledge of PowerPoint preferred * Ability to maintain and organize electronic files on the company document management system * Working knowledge of Benefit Point, or willingness to learn * Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple tasks * Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail * Responsive and self-motivated team player
