Bloomberg's R&D group is seeking experienced JavaScript web developers to bring modern web technologies to our clients through mobile web and the Bloomberg terminal. We build complex web applications using JavaScript to create rich, scalable and agile products.

* In this role, you will help the team develop a next-generation publishing application that brings email content to life for our employees and clients. * This tool makes content creation, editorial workflow and final distribution on the Bloomberg terminal and mobile devices user friendly for publishers and readers. * Developers contribute to all phases of software engineering, from requirements through release. * Candidates should exhibit strategic thinking, an aggressive drive and an aptitude for engineering quality software.

* 4 years working on JavaScript based rich web applications * Expert JavaScript skills including the ability to extend JavaScript frameworks and develop complex UI components * Passion for working with and iterating on UI * Experience with and/or interest in full software development lifecycle activities: requirements management, technical design, implementation, testing/release * Experience with version control such as Git * Should be willing to learn modern JavaScript tools such as React and Flux * Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks such as Jasmine and Karma are a plus * Knowledge of JavaScript design patterns such as Module and Observer patterns is necessary * knowledge of HTML and CSS is essential * experience using CSS pre-processors such as SASS is a plus * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Interest in developing financial applications * Experience with enhancing and maintaining mission-critical software in a fast-paced environment is a plus but not necessary * Leadership, management, and mentoring experience also highly valued
