Summary
The Compliance team within APG-Core Transaction Processing is responsible for building, supporting and enhancing the Compliance platform on Aladdin. The Compliance team develops tools to implement the critical business processes that ensure BlackRock complies with regulatory and investment guidelines. Our clients include Business Operations (Portfolio Compliance), portfolio managers, traders, and risk analysts across the firm. This position is for a JAVA WEB DEVELOPER on the team. We are in search of an experienced developer to create and deliver software, take ownership of projects from start to finish, and work independently or with a project team.
Responsibilities
* Develop high quality software and user interfaces as well as associated unit tests. * Liaise with Business Analysts and Technical Leads to understand business requirements. * Support test team in system, integration and user acceptance testing. * Diagnose, research and resolve software defects * Work with the Project Manager and Development Manager to participate in project planning and ongoing status reporting. * Utilize configuration management tools to track and record changes to software * Work with the support/release management team to deploy software * Participate in and conduct code reviews.
Ideal Candidate
* 3 years of Java experience, including experience with JUnit and Spring * 3 years of application software development/integration * Extensive hands-on experience with Web development stacks (Java / J2EE, JavaScript, HTML & CSS) * Experience with open source web technology such as JQuery, AngularJS, ReactJS etc strongly preferred * Experience with Sybase, MS SQL Server, or Oracle, include creation of complex SQL, stored procedures and triggers * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Bachelor’s degree – technical or engineering specialty preferred **Pluses:** * 1 year of Unix * Experience working on systems integration projects * Financial knowledge and interest recommended
