Responsibilities
BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Project Manager who is a self-starter and can lead a team of subject matter experts in fulfilling technical requirements for U.S. Special Forces and other government agencies. The team will support rapid design, development, customization, manufacturing, fabrication, integration, test and evaluation, installation, system certification, maintenance and system upgrade, and life cycle support of new and existing communication platforms, equipment/systems, and subsystems. As the Project Manager, the following duties are typical of the position: - Responsible for the administrative/operational leadership of a project within the program guidelines set by the Program Manager. - Coordinates with other units to accomplish assigned work. Advises other managers on status of work. Interfaces and acts as liaison with customers, contractors and suppliers. Reviews and recommends changes and resolves technical problems. - Monitors project to ensure work scope, schedule and budget are well defined and maintained. - Develops, implements and monitors management and technical systems to control and evaluate unit performance. Executes programs and procedures to meet management and technical project requirements. - Provides technical and operational support and services to ensure quality assurance standards are met in providing support to various project tasks. Develops reports on the progress and status of assigned projects. Initiates corrective action to support task problems and failures. - Directs the work activities of assigned subordinate employees. Conducts performance appraisals, schedules vacation and approves sick leave usage. - Performs other duties as required.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills and Education:** - Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Project Management or technical field - 5 years of project management in systems engineering or the design / field service of military command and control - Supervision of Communication-Electronic equipment/systems and subsystem projects - Ability to obtain/maintain the required security clearance **Preferred Skills and Education:** - Information Technology / Network Systems experience - Information Assurance accreditation experience Video-teleconferencing installation experience - Project Management Professional certification
