Summary
Axway is seeking a Business Analyst (BA) for our Operational Intelligence and Business Activity Monitoring solutions to join our Pre Sales organization to assist in leading efforts during both pre- and post-sales activities. The BA uses both functional and technical skills. The BA will have a leading role in delivering cross-industry application solutions to customers. The successful candidate will elicit and analyze customer objectives and concerns, craft application design, and configure the solutions. The analyst acts as the advocate for application users as well as experts in Operational Intelligence. As part of that role, the BA defines the application functionality, assists in development, validates value, and conducts knowledge transfer activities to customer. The BA will take a lead role on the pre-sales team with presentations and demonstrations of solutions. The BA works closely with Axway's sales and technical team members.
Responsibilities
- Identify and describe design elements critical to delivering business value - Contribute to the sales process; calls, webcasts, presentations and demonstrations - Clearly communicate design elements between team members and customer - Create application design and user interface content - At times, document solution content (user guides, operational procedures) - At times, prepare and deliver training material - Gather and analyze business and user requirements - Help keep work delivery within contracted scope - Help manage approval and formal changes to the requirements - Safeguard Axway and Axway customer data through compliance with Axway policies and the appropriate use of Axway equipment and facilities.
Ideal Candidate
**Skills / Qualifications:** - Superior communication skills in all areas: speaking, listening, and writing - Excellent leadership/facilitation skills, able to guide group discussions to useful conclusions - Comfortable speaking ‘truth to power’, directed to business and technical, groups or individuals - Natural curiosity; history of autodidactic learning; autonomous, self-motivated - Secure in ability to work with geographically dispersed team and management - Successful experience with business analysis and application design - Exceptional analytic skills to deconstruct requirements and construction solution definitions - Capacity to manage requirements to match solution scope or budget - Adaptable to rapidly changing priorities and requirements - Aware of Iterative software development project methods **Required Experience:** - 10-12 years work experience in similar business analysis roles most likely with a software/solutions vendor or with a management consulting / systems integration firm. - Experience business performance analysis, such as Business analytics, Business intelligence Business activity monitoring Operational monitoring / dashboards in support of business objectives **Desired (nice-to-have):** - Experience in team-based solutions over lone-wolf development - UML (Unified Modelling Language) or other modelling experience - Agile projects participation; Prior exposure to agile methodologies such as XP and/ or Scrum - Metropolitan Washington, DC area (preferred) **Education:** - 4 year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math/ Statistics or other commensurate analytical subjects
