The Company designs, manufactures and sells flooring products (resilient and wood) and ceiling systems (mineral fiber, fiberglass and metal) globally. The Company segments includes: Building Products, Resilient Flooring and Wood Flooring.
The Project Engineer will be responsible for providing technical services related to manufacturing equipment and processes, including daily technical support, identifying and executing process improvement and cost reduction opportunities. Additionally, the Project Engineer will design and install capital projects and also have an emphasis on driving equipment reliability.
- Providing technical engineering assistance on a proactive basis
- Driving resolution of common cause and special cause engineering issues
- Investigating equipment and manufacturing problems and recommending corrective action
- Coordinating work between contractors, technicians and operations
- Executing capital engineering projects per agreed cost, schedule, and performance
- Applying Precision Maintenance concepts and principles to all work performed
- Transferring technical knowledge where appropriate to other plant personnel to elevate organization understanding and performance
- Developing, implementing and improving required maintenance systems
- Analyzing process data to identify areas of opportunity
- Developing and implementing changes in maintenance procedures and/or practices
- Leading the effort to perform Root Cause Failure Analyses (RCFA) to identify and remove reliability defects
- Coordinating with engineering and maintenance on machine changes and/or upgrades to improve reliability
- Managing multiple and changing priorities while meeting established deadlines
Required Qualifications for the Project Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline
- 1+ years of experience in project engineering responsibilities
- Proven Project Management experience
- Past experience and ability to facilitate teams and projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Desired Qualifications for the Project Engineer:
- Professional Engineer certification
- 3+ years of experience working in a project engineer capacity
- Previous experience driving process improvement in a manufacturing environment
- Past experience with Lean Manufacturing tools such as Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), 2P, or 3P
- Experience in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project
