Summary
Plans, implements and evaluates Membership acquisition, engagement and retention marketing activities to meet the goals of the ANA and to maximize member growth and dues revenue opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assists with development and planning of membership strategy, plans, and tactics for acquisition, engagement and retention.. Provides expert implementation of traditional and digital membership acquisition, engagement and retention marketing campaigns to meet program goals and to maximize revenue. Responsible for all aspects of planning, writing, coordinating graphics, and distribution of a wide variety of promotional and support materials for all member campaigns. - Develops and maintains schedules and tracking reports for marketing campaigns. Monitors internal and external activities to achieve maximum impact from campaigns. - Monitors and tracks budgets for membership marketing campaigns. Assists with preparation of membership departmental budgets (correlating response rates and revenue projections). Controls expenditure in assigned budget areas. - Evaluates the effectiveness of membership marketing strategies. Implements systems for tracking results of activities. Monitors internal and external activities to achieve maximum impact from campaigns. Utilizes current market intelligence, new methodologies, best practices, and industry research to maximize campaign effectiveness. Implements changes in marketing strategies based upon results of analysis, strategic objectives, and best practices. - Identifies, establishes and maintains contacts and effective relationships with staff and management, as well as external individuals and agencies. - Collaborates with appropriate program staff to develop and execute membership campaigns consistent with goals and resources. Supervises and evaluates quality of work by external vendors. - Develops and maintains expert knowledge of membership acquisition, engagement and retention efforts. Identifies emerging marketing and revenue enhancement opportunities. Identifies synergies to promote better integration of marketing activities across all program areas.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** - Baccalaureate Degree \ required, preferably in, marketing, advertising, English, or communications. **Related Work Experience:** - Five years, with most recent work experience consumer or member marketing or communications with a pattern of increasing responsibility. - Association or marketing agency experience a plus. Healthcare or nursing professional knowledge a plus. **Skills:** - Strong knowledge of all aspects of membership acquisition and retention, including direct mail, email, database managements, social media, member engagement, marketing, tradeshows and exhibits, and online/mobile marketing. - Specialized knowledge of marketing materials production and promotion - Demonstrated experience creating and executing successful membership campaign plans and tactics; growing and retaining membership - Proficiency in analysis of membership data, including acquisition, retention and engagement data, to identify and develop plans to exploit growth opportunities. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office software - Exceptional project management skills and organization - Strong writing ability - Working knowledge of membership communications, including working with designers and agencies - Strong work ethic and positive attitude - Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and administrative support **Additional Qualifications:** - Collegial, positive, innovative work style - Ability to multi-task without losing critical attention to details - Exceptional communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening skills - Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and administrative support - Strong analytical and problem solving skills - Ability work collaboratively and in teams in a busy work environment - Flexibility and diplomacy in dealing with changing priorities and demanding workload
