Summary
The responsibility of this position is to assist in keeping the buildings at the South Shore Harbour office complex in a quality state of repair. The incumbent with the guidance of the Lead Engineer will be responsible for building systems, including HVAC, mechanical, plumbing and electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
* Paint and repair walls as needed. * Replace ceiling tiles as needed. * Repair and replace carpet in common areas where needed. * Repair, refinish doors, locks and hardware as needed. * Maintain work area assigned to him in clean and orderly condition. * Respond to afterhours calls on an as needed basis. * Incumbent will have no direct reports but may provide guidance on assigned projects from time to time. * Perform plumbing, electrical and HVAC repairs. * Respond to tenant work orders. * Perform start up procedures. * Perform lock work for tenant suites. * Directly report to Chief Engineer. * Track inventory of materials used and needed to perform the work. * Perform preventative maintenance on equipment. * Physical requirements including stooping, standing, climbing and frequent lifting, minimum of 50 lbs of equipment (pumps, tools, ladders)
Ideal Candidate
* Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems such as plumbing backups, temperature issues, mechanical failures, etc. * Ability to organize tasks and prioritize. * Ability to work under pressure, harsh conditions, and within time constraints. * Minimum 5 years related trade experience in building related trade. * Office building maintenance experience preferred. * Technical, vocational or on-the-job training in at least one of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, process controls or plumbing * Strong Interpersonal skills * Strong Oral and Written communication skills * High School Diploma or GED
