Summary
The Implementation Specialist position is a client-facing role, responsible for managing a large number of client relationships and keeping client projects on track. An Implementation Specialist effectively manages client communications and engagement, and works directly with physicians, other providers, and clinical staff and office managers to implement new quality improvement initiatives. An Implementation Specialist supports the Health Innovations and Technical Assistance Group goals by promoting the improvement of patient care and population health by providing direct-to-provider technical assistance towards the achievement of clinical quality and process improvement goals and participation in quality reporting programs. Altarum is currently seeking Implementation Specialists to support the Michigan Caries Prevention Program (MCPP) assisting primary care clinics to implement new oral health services into their current workflows. An Implementation Specialist acts as a trusted advisor to healthcare providers across the State of Michigan, helping primary care providers adopt oral health best practices, comply with Federal and State regulations and improve outcomes. This position also requires the Implementation Specialist to recruit program participants.
Responsibilities
* Guide providers and their medical practices through the process of implementing best practices into their care, including training providers and staff, adapting the flow of a patient visit to integrate new preventative measures, troubleshooting and monitoring progress. * Review, analyze and adapt workflows. * Track and analyze progress metrics for assigned providers and identify process and performance gaps with implementation of the program. * Work with practice staff to review progress with implementation and provide additional assistance as needed * Develop education plans to facilitate knowledge on oral health assessments, strategies, tools and practices within the practice setting and to the staff. * Educate providers and staff on Medicaid coding and billing requirements for oral health assessments and fluoride varnish application. * Help client practices complete the required training and certification required by Medicaid for billing purposes. * Ensure proper coordination of resources, leveraging internal expertise and competencies. * Recruit clients for MCPP program participation as needed. This includes making cold calls and door-to-door recruiting of primary care and pediatric medical clinics as needed. * Travel regionally in Michigan as needed to meet with managers, physicians, and partners.
Ideal Candidate
* 3+ years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting (Preferably in a pediatric or primary care office), including working experience in quality improvement. * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree preferred. * Demonstrated knowledge of measurement and reporting of clinical process in ambulatory settings. * An inquisitive and innovative nature, excellent critical and analytical thinking skills, integrity, willingness to step into new roles, strong communication and facilitation skills, team-focused mentality, and a commitment to continuously learning and improving. * Ability to lead and motivate clinical practice staff to adopt and implement new quality improvement initiatives.
