Summary
We are currently seeking a Sr. Technical Accounting Manager to join our team. This role is a newly created position in the Corporate Controllers' organization and reports to the Director of External Reporting. This highly visible position will be responsible for implementing new accounting standards, such as ASC 606 and ASC 842 and working on one-time transactions, such as acquisitions.
Responsibilities
* New accounting pronouncement assessment, implementation and training, in particular, revenue recognition (ASC 606) and new lease standard (ASC 842), project communications and documentation. * Perform technical accounting research and prepare high quality white papers in support of positions taken and conclusions reached for new transactions or new accounting principles to be adopted, such as acquisitions and ASC 606. * Propose accounting policies and procedures to reflect new accounting pronouncements or guidance, to improve clarity or to respond to changing circumstances. * Accounting for one-time transactions (i.e., debt financings, acquisitions), as they occur, including property valuation analysis and support, leases and ARO's. * Post-acquisition accounting for legal entity mergers and integrations. * Assist in the external reporting process including the preparation of 10-Ks, 10-Qs, earnings releases, and other SEC filings. * Develop and maintain working relationships across various functions within Finance, other company organizations and the external audit team. * Ad hoc projects. * Other duties as determined by the Director of External Reporting or CAO.
Ideal Candidate
* 6 to 8 years of work experience including a minimum of 3 years in public accounting or industry with technical accounting experience * Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent education/experience * CPA, required * Must have technical accounting, research and reporting skills * Experience in performing assessments or the implementation of ASC 606, preferred * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite * Detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines * Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload
