Summary
The person hired for the position of Software Development Manager will be expected to be strong in both leadership attributes and identity management technical solution experience. This key person will manage the team and lead the overall effort to perform the implementation and delivery for the most of our customer projects and some of internal projects in our identity management business. This position will report directly to the Pasadena Site Manager, and supports site business metrics and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Manage Software Development Team to perform the implementation and delivery for the customer projects in our identity management business to meet defined objectives on time in full - Resourcing project delivery teams, managing a large development team with complex customer requirements and dynamic timelines - Hands on the software solution implementation and delivery which usually include designing the system solution, planning resources and timeline, managing the data conversion, and lead the training and mentoring to the junior system implementation engineers in the team and in our RRC regions - Coordinate with the Pasadena Site Manager to establish and fine tune new procedures and documentation rules and improve the overall performance of the software development function and delivery in every aspect - Frequent preparation and presentation for the customer and 3M Cogent management of detailed status reports, project schedules, and historical reports that track highly detailed history of all projects - Developing and mentoring direct reports and foster team work among direct report and peers
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications:** - Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited university - Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in information systems design, development, implementation and/or support - Experience as a Manager/Supervisor with direct reports **Preferred Qualifications:** - Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field, from an accredited university - Technical experience in a law enforcement customer facing environment - Experience in AFIS/ABIS system design, implementation, and support - Proven experience in all aspect of technical solution implementation with strong hands on technical knowledge - Excellent written and verbal English communication skill. Excellent people skill to internal technical colleagues and external customers - Open minded. Willing to share the knowledge to the team members and willing to learn the knowledge from various sources - Strong sense of prioritization, urgency, result oriented - Global projects with cross functional teams a plus
