Summary
The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operation of the company’s Cerritos Logistics Center. The Operations Manager ensures the timely and accurate receipt, handling and shipping of all products – new, used and returned – and is responsible for all projects executed by the Distribution and Integration Center employees. The Operations Manager is responsible for hiring, training and maintaining a highly effective work force. Develops work standards and measurement matrices to monitor and improve efficiency, prepares financial plans and/or operational analyses and reports. The Operations Manager documents all procedures, processes and incidents relating to the operation of the Cerritos Logistics Center, responsible for planning, managing and maintaining the operational and systems infrastructure of the facility.
Responsibilities
* Supervises personnel, which typically includes recommendations for hiring, firing, performance evaluation, training, work allocation, and problem resolution * Manages the printing, sorting, recording and dispersal of printed collates This needs to be done with awareness for order routing, customer specific shipping/packaging requirements, shipping methods, and freight billing options * Manage the productivity of the material handlers, track performance * Work with production managers on preparing product for special projects and integrations * Maintains space, equipment, and supplies; manages inventory, transfers, and product rotation * Manage general visibility and accessibility to stock * Research discrepancies and variances on a daily basis * Direct Inventory Control to ensure accuracy * Develops and implements improved methods of materials handling, stock control, and packaging to promote efficiency, services, and reduced costs * Conducts periodic or special inventory audits and assists in the reconciliation of physical counts * Develops record keeping procedures and manages appropriate department records in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and standards * As appropriate to the position, participates in the development of operating goals and objectives for the unit; recommends, implements, and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations * Assists in annual budget planning process and regularly monitors expenditures * Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as required by daily work volume
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS degree required * 5+ years required of experience in warehouse/operations management * Strong communication skills, both orally and in writing * Effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, and general public * Interface effectively with other warehouse team members, other departments, customers, and contracted suppliers * Operate a PC (with knowledge of Windows, word, excel) * Foster a cooperative work environment * Sharp organization and coordination skills * Employee development and performance management skills * Supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments * Knowledge of warehousing methodology * Develop, plan, and implement short-and long range goals * Knowledge of inventory management practices * Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations, where only limited standardization exists * Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
