Summary
The Systems Engineer (SE) works in partnership with Zones’ Enterprise pre-sales team to help drive the expansion of infrastructure solutions within a region and/or market. With the primary objective being to increase the growth of revenue and margin for hardware, software, and services and other advanced technologies, the SE will focus on bringing deep technology solutions to Zones customers primarily in the area of servers, storage, networking and other advanced technologies. The SE- Security is a post-sales resource that implements effective infrastructure solutions and will be responsible for planning, designing, as well as supporting deployment efforts for our clients for the delivery of project-based assignments including proof-of-concept, analysis, design/architecture, deployment and support in one or more of the following areas: Network Security, End Point & Mobile Security, Virtualization Security, Identity & Access management, Security Management and Operations, Encryption & VPN, Application Security (including web/cloud and database), Anti-Malware Solutions, Web & Email Gateways.
Responsibilities
* The Engineer will be responsible for understanding complex business IT needs specifically focused in the Information Security sector and will research, design and develop solutions * You will be expected to work with our Data Center team members responsible for delivering Technical solutions and customer deliverables * Providing input to Service Director on delivering high quality customer solutions * Responsible for internal training workshops for employees in your region on an as needed basis * Research, Design and Develop repeatable solutions for Customer’s IT needs * Work with the Security National Practice Director on development and delivery of Security Solution Bundles * Assist Services Director in Resource management * Responsible for maintaining local security Manufacturer technical relations * Assist in building and hiring security professional services team within region * Be an escalation point for Engineers and Sr. Engineers, Consultants, Sr. Consultants and Architects * Quality Assurance of all Security projects within region * Engage various manufacturers and their engineering resources for design assistance and lab access * Meeting with key vendors to stay current on products and technologies * Maintain multiple advanced manufacturer specific advanced certifications i.e.: CCIE, CISSP, GCIH Work on achieving additional relevant certifications that would benefit the role * Drive service revenue Security technologies * Enable technical readiness, training and development on Security solutions within assigned region * Work with other Security Practice members to develop standardized quoting, delivery and testing documentation to be used by Zones nationally for delivery of repeatable services
Ideal Candidate
* A BA/BS in a related field is required * Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills * Must have strong analytical skills in order to solve complex and unusual technical and business situations * Must have excellent interpersonal skills, specifically the ability to communicate and interact effectively with all staffing levels * Self-motivated and capable of working independently * Must be able to maintain planning and organization across multiple projects * Able to exercise independent judgment in order to manage varied complex projects from inception through completion * Must have the ability to learn quickly and comprehend many technical and business concepts * Consultative problem solver ''Actively listens'' Understands the needs and business problems in order to uncover potential value points of offering * Can multi-task, prioritize, and juggle to serve multiple clients during same timeframe * Demonstrates a high level of responsiveness to the customer to enlist trust and build credibility * Strong interpersonal, teaming, leadership, creativity, influencing, problem solving, and conflict resolution skills required **Technology Focus & Requirements** * 5+ years of experience performing a Systems Engineer, Consultant or Architect role * 10+ years of hands on experience in IT with emphasis in Network Security * Business understanding including costing, P&L and pricing * Must be fully knowledgeable and able to design, plan, and support deployment efforts around IT security solutions using one or more of the following technologies: * Network Security * End Point & Mobile Security * Virtualization Security * Identity & Access management * Security Management and Operations * Encryption & VPN * Application Security (including web/cloud and database) * Anti-Malware Solutions * Web & Email Gateways * Experience delivering integrated solutions within the technology industry desired **Certifications** * Multiple Industry recognized Certifications i.e.: CCIE, GCIH, CISSP
