Summary
As a Software Development Engineer, this role will report directly to the Software Development Manager leading the Mobile team. You will be writing server side code for mobile Android applications, building robust high-volume products and developing prototypes quickly. You will also help to modernize existing software using state-of-the-art cloud tooling.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with mobile developers to design efficient, effective back-end APIs to collect data and serve it to back-end users and distributed devices. * Develop applications and services across Zonar’s technology stack to deliver new features and support for Zonar’s products * Work closely with other team members in guiding software architecture and technology decisions to emphasis quality, performance, usability, and sustainability, empowering the end goal of releasing an extraordinary user experience and business value to our customers * Instrument Zonar code to achieve insight on business metrics, usage, and performance * Follow software engineering best practices and provide technical mentorship to other members of the team
Ideal Candidate
* 3+ years of experience for software development * Experience with Python * RESTful API experience * Experience with database systems such as PostgreSQL and Cassandra * Previous use of message queues such as RabbitMQ and Kafka * Familiarity with Docker Containers and Kubernetes is a plus * Experience in building large scale systems. Demonstrated knowledge with distributed and multi-threaded implementations a plus * Ability to work well with others, motivate your team, and thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment. * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
