Technician

Ziegler Cat has an opening for a full-time technician to work on heavy diesel truck, construction, and agricultural equipment. We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to help deliver top notch service as a mechanic to our growing customer base.

* Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment as well as agricultural equipment including tractors, combines, balers, sprayers, tillage equipment, and planters * Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed * Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed * Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain good customer records * Work collaboratively on a team

* 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable shop mechanic experience * 2+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience preferred * Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar and/or AGCO, Challenger, LEXION, Sunflower, or White Planters a plus but not required * Ablility to work 2nd shift * Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player * Written and verbal communication skills * Basic computer skills * Own mechanic tool set * Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment * Minimum physical requirements: * Push/pull up to 40 lbs * Lift/carry up to 40 lbs * Lift bulky objects
