Technician

Ziegler Cat has an opening for a full-time technician to work on heavy diesel truck, construction, and agricultural equipment. We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to help deliver top notch service as a mechanic to our growing customer base.

• Diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment including compactors, excavators, loaders, dozers, and other heavy construction equipment as well as agricultural equipment including tractors, combines, balers, sprayers, tillage equipment, and planters
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed
• Communicate job progress to supervisor and customer as needed
• Complete service reports, order parts, and maintain good customer records
• Work collaboratively on a team

• 2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable shop mechanic experience
• 2+ years of relevant diesel equipment repair experience preferred
• Working knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems, components, electrical, and fuel systems; working on Caterpillar and/or AGCO, Challenger, LEXION, Sunflower, or White Planters a plus but not required
• Ablility to work 2nd shift
• Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer skills
• Own mechanic tool set
• Ability to maintain safe and clean work environment
• Minimum physical requirements:

  • Lift/carry up to 40 lbs
  • Lift bulky objects
