Swim Coach

The YMCA achieves its mission one person at a time. The greatest source of energy for the YMCA is our staff.

Under the direct supervision of the Head Swim Team Coach and the Aquatics Director, the Swim Team Coach is responsible for providing instruction and workouts that will prepare participants for their individual needs.

* Design and plan swim instruction and workouts curriculums for all developmental levels and groups. * Provide feedback to participants to facilitate improvement. * Enforce aquatic rules and policies by maintaining constant surveillance of class participants. * Record and maintain attendance records. * Set up facility or equipment, store equipment, and secure facility upon completion of class. * Attend staff meetings. * Report any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor or the person responsible for those items at your site. * Follow all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to managing visitors and guests at our facilities. * Report any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor. * Complete all child abuse prevention training as required. * Perform other duties as assigned.

* Must have a high school diploma or equivalent with prior experience with competitive swimming experience. * Must be proficient in swimming and safety skills. * Must have ability to motivate and educate participants. * Must be mentally capable to handle dangerous situations in order to assure the safety of all swimmers.
