Quality Engineer

Worthington Industries is seeking to hire a Quality Engineer for their Rome, NY facility. The primary duty of this newly created position is to drive improvement. Looking for a candidate that can progress to the Quality Manager position in 3 to 5 years.

• Pilot root cause analysis and corrective action teams
• Review and approve raw material application for Cold Rolled Strip processing
• Compile quality-related performance statistics on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Create and track AIAG PPAP’s

Skills:

• Advanced computer skills especially in MS Excel and PowerPoint
• Experienced in the techniques of lean manufacturing
• Self-directed and motivated
• Data-driven, analytical thinking
• Problem solving mindset
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred

Education/Training Required:

• Five years’ experience in quality department of manufacturing environment
• Four year Metallurgical / Material Science Engineering degree
