Platform Engineer

Today we offer SaaS to enable our customers to manage work and workers, payments, and financial reconciliation. Our business domain is broad and complex - we are managing employer and worker financials, we also support a two sided marketplace as well as a play into the enterprise integration space. We have enterprise features and functionality including compliance, payments, webhooks, custom fields, and configurable workflow. The platform team’s role is to build a cohesive model for how microservices should be architected and built.

* Design, deliver and maintain internal tools and libraries for product teams to use to build services. * Collaborate closely with product owners and engineering leads to help design and build services. * Design, deliver, and maintain core utility services which empower product teams. * Help Work Market move into the world of immutable infrastructure.

**Qualifications:** * Stack: Java, Spring Boot, MySQL, Gradle, AWS, Docker, Groovy, RxJava, Hystrix, Javaslang * Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. * Excellent time management and communication. * Experience designing for scale and various failure scenarios. * Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, knowing how to reach the right people. * Proven track record in domain modeling, API design, and system architecture. * Experience managing internal and external commitments. * Experience configuring, launching, and maintaining production systems. **Awesome to haves:** * Knowledge of functional programming (in any language). * Excitement for learning new technologies.
