English Instructor/Assistant Professor

William Peace University, a vibrant and diverse independent institution in Raleigh, NC, seeks to appoint a scholar with expertise in the field of English. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full-time credit load, engage in service, research and scholarship, student advising, recruiting, and participate in campus-wide events. The appointment, effective July 1, 2016, will be made at the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor. This will be a non-tenure track, fixed-term appointment.

* Evidence of teaching effectiveness * Two years college teaching experience * Mastery of subject matter, primarily the teaching of writing * Deep commitment to fostering student success * Ability to use instructional technologies to support classroom activities

* Ph.D. in English or related field * Possible areas of expertise: creative writing, cultural studies, ESL instructor training, digital humanities
